Paul Ashworth is an average bloke. He is in his mid-30's and works as an easy going English teacher in a state-sponsored North London school. When not teaching, his life revolves around Arsenal, a local professional soccer team that hasn't won a league cup in 18 years. Despite the inconsistancies of life, an obsessive loyalty to the Arsenal seemingly provides Paul with a relatively safe predicable routine, that is until he meets Sarah, a hard working, goal-obsessed collegue who struggles to free him of his addiction to soccer. Somewhere between his all-consuming obsession with the Arsenal and his fractured love for Sarah, the hero of FEVER PITCH has to find a life!
