Long Day's Journey Into the Night' paints a deeply moving, heart-rending portrait of an Irish-American family haunted by the demons of its past. On an August day in 1912, in New London, Connecticut, as a thick fog closes on their summer home, the four members of the Tyrone family - the patriarch James, his wife Mary and their adult sons Jamie and Edmond - lay bare their souls, confronting each other with the many guilts, fears and resentments that have distorted all of their lives.
